Standard Gas CEO in TechPros interview
Online thought leadership platform, TechPros, has posted an interview with our Chief Executive, David Whitmarsh.
In the interview, entitled “Cracking Net Zero: How Standard Gas can convert the world’s non-recyclable waste into carbon-removing, renewable energy,” David outlines how the Company’s technology will help address the global climate challenges and provide alternative energy options in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
As TechPros explains, “Today, up to 50% of the world’s waste is non-recyclable or ‘residual’. Most of it is ending up in landfills, being incinerated, or worst of all, just dumped in the environment. UK-based Standard Gas Technologies Ltd believes the process it has developed, patented, and is commercialising can transform waste management into a key part of the Circular or Regenerative Economy and make a significant contribution to the mitigation of Climate Change and the goals of Net Zero.”

TRANSITION TO NET ZERO WITH OUR CARBON-REMOVING TECHNOLOGY
Carbon Negative Energy: Each year, a single SG100 plant can generate up to 40,000 MW hours of carbon-negative power, enough for around 10,000 homes, offices or commercial properties, as well as for the transportation sector and wider industry.
Carbon Reduction: It will remove up to 16,000 tonnes of CO2e – equivalent to the annual carbon emissions of 5,000 cars. With electrolysis, a plant processing biogenic waste will generate over 650 tonnes of green hydrogen. And the SG100 closes the waste management loop, offering a better low carbon alternative to landfill and incineration.
Carbon Capture: TheSG100 technology also generates ‘biochar’ and ‘carbon char’, a black, granular, dust-like co- product that can be sequestered in valuable agricultural, environmental, and industrial applications.
