PD&MS to support SG100 technology roll-out.

Standard Gas and Aberdeen-based engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning specialist, PD&MS Group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at building a partnership to support the commercial roll-out of the SG100 technology.

Now mechanically complete, Standard Gas’ first SG100 plant is being readied for initial commissioning with commercial operations expected in the second half of 2024. “Having developed, proved and patented the technology with our SG50 plant, the SG100 represents a significant upgrade in terms of capacity, efficiency, and performance,” notes Standard Gas Technical Director, Laurence Sharrock. “We already have a pipeline of over 20 plants in 4-5 projects, and to implement these we are developing ongoing partnerships with specialist service providers. PD&MS understands the energy and carbon management and reduction sector, so is a great fit for us.

“With extensive experience and an international reputation, PD&MS offers the full suite of the services needed for the SG100 roll-out,” says Laurence. “So, from site assessment and development, through design and specification, construction, maintenance, and operation of plants, to process and technical safety, feed systems and other key equipment and activities. That encompasses lifetime operation and asset management of the plants.”

Although Standard Gas and PD&MS do not intend their relationship to be exclusive, exclusivity may be agreed on a project-by-project basis but only in respect of the pre- agreed Studies and Engineering Services and scopes of work.

Simon Rio, PD&MS Chief Executive Officer said: “We are extremely pleased to be selected to support Standard Gas in the roll-out of its cutting edge SG100 energy-from-waste technology. Across our Group we have capabilities to support Standard Gas from early feasibility stage through to site construction, commissioning and into operations. We have extensive decarbonisation and environmental expertise and look forward to working with Standard Gas to deliver safe, predictable and sustainable solutions across their extensive pipeline of future projects.”

PD&MS Group, an RSK Group company, is a specialist engineering services company operating within the energy transition, conventional energy, low carbon and renewables sectors and provides market leading consultancy and EPCC solutions across the entire asset lifecycle of energy assets. PD&MS, which currently has a headcount of over 700 people, has established operations across the UK and Azerbaijan.

TRANSITION TO NET ZERO WITH OUR CARBON-REMOVING TECHNOLOGY

Renewable, carbon-negative electricity, biogas, transport fuels, green hydrogen, chemical feedstock, carbon-removing biochar, transformational waste management and…and…and
Our SG100 technology produces affordable, clean, carbon-negative energy, while capturing and removing carbon, and transforming waste management for the Circular Economy.
Our carbon removing technology has wide-scale commercial, transportation and industrial applications across value chains.

Carbon Negative Energy: Each year, a single SG100 plant can generate up to 40,000 MW hours of carbon-negative power, enough for around 10,000 homes, offices or commercial properties, as well as for the transportation sector and wider industry.

Carbon Reduction: It will remove up to 16,000 tonnes of CO2e – equivalent to the annual carbon emissions of 5,000 cars. With electrolysis, a plant processing biogenic waste will generate over 650 tonnes of green hydrogen. And the SG100 closes the waste management loop, offering a better low carbon alternative to landfill and incineration.

Carbon Capture: TheSG100 technology also generates ‘biochar’ and ‘carbon char’, a black, granular, dust-like co- product that can be sequestered in valuable agricultural, environmental, and industrial applications.

Our Mission is to significantly contribute in mitigating and reversing climate change’s negative environmental, social and economic impacts.
