Renewable energy and Biogas specialist joins our new Advisory Board.
After a 25-year career with global industrial gas giant, Air Liquide, David Hurren has joined Standard Gas’ newly created Advisory Board.
Until last December, David had served for six years as CEO of Air Liquide Biogas Solutions UK building that division to be the largest Biogas operation within the Air Liquide Group.
He is currently President of the British Compressed Gases Association, an advisor to the UK’s Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association, and Vice-Chair of the Renewable Energy Association’s Green Gas Committee.
Commenting on David’s appointment, Standard Gas CEO David Whitmarsh says, “We’re delighted that David has agreed to join our new Advisory Board. Throughout a long and distinguished career, he has amassed a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience encompassing the full range of the gases industry, not only in the areas of renewable energy and Biogas, but also in the water management sector. David’s insights will certainly help guide us as we press ahead with the full commercialisation of our SG100 technology.”
For his part, David Hurren notes, “Renewable Gas from gasification is an essential part of the future product mix to achieve Net Zero, turning what is seen as organic waste today into a vital energy resource. Having followed this technology area for over a decade, it is exciting to see the strides being made by the talented team at Standard Gas and I am looking forward to supporting them in the next stage of their journey.”
Commenting on the creation of Standard Gas’ Advisory Board, Standard Gas Executive Chair, Ed Falkman, says: “As our business evolves in line with the management team’s ambitions, we expect future challenges will become more complex. For this reason, there is significant value in having periodic access to quality information and expertise from highly competent and experienced individuals in our sector. Accordingly, we are looking to appoint up to three Advisory Board members with extensive knowledge and experience in key areas relating to our business, and who can provide input to complement the work of our management team. Clearly, David Hurren fits this bill and we’re more than happy to have him on board.”
